Phew! The beta is out now, finally! And I can't tell you how excited I am about the fact that ProjectFork will soon be ready for production. In fact, Kyle and I planned on releasing the stable version in exactly two weeks from now (11/01). Until then, we still have things to do and a lot of bugs to fix. But let's talk about the current release first:
I've added an enormous amount of new and complex features, some of which are still under construction. Therefore the beta is running less stable than the previous versions. However I am confident that it will all work out as planned in the next two weeks. You can help ensure the stability of the system by reporting anything you find in the forum (http://forum.projectfork.net).
New FeaturesAs I've said before, there are a lot of new things to explore in the beta release. One of the biggest features is the incredible access system. It allows you to restrict access accross all sections/actions available. It is extremly sophisticated and there are 113 permissions to choose from! We now also have a new section called "Board". It's basically a pared-down Forum where you can create topics and people can reply to. Another big feature is the ability to comment on tasks and notes. Here is a (almost) complete list of the new features:

Fantastic!
Just playing around with the demo - what I see is really impressing... Recently made a sort of research in chase of a collaborative tool for our animal welfare society and I was considering Basecamp and PHProjekt but now I think it will be ProjectFork after all. Suits exactly our purpose, not being too complicated at the same time, open source and Joomla integrated. Congratulations and thanks a ton! report abuse

Hello,
GREAT ! Just installed it, works fine. The only thing that seems to be not working is the calendar. it works as calendar, but doesn't show a deadline or whatever. I have a published project, a milestone in the future, a task, members. And in the config of the calendar i set all to YES. I am logged in, so everything should be fine. With regards, joep. report abuse
