PraiseFrame, PraiseQuery, Greybox Image Gallery PraisePosition, and PraiseRegister now Joomla! 2.5 compatible!
Written by Jonathan ShroyerCommentsIn our continuing effort to make our products Joomla! 2.5 compatible, we now have PraiseFrame, PraiseQuery, Greybox Image Gallery and PraisePosition available for download. PraiseQuery is availble to club members and the others are all FREE for everyone to enjoy.
I am currently working on a new project for Joomlapraise called "Praisefolio". Praisefolio is a simple to use Portfolio component for Joomla. For this component I wanted a nice JS Lightbox script to display various portfolio images and I started off with the default lightbox that comes with Joomla.
After some time I found that the Joomla lightbox was too limited in it's functionality and visual appearance. So I searched the web and tried out several new scripts until I got stuck with "Greybox" made by Orangoo - a lightweight script(22kb) with lots of functionality, stunning appearance and great performance in all major browsers.
To share this handy tool more easily with you, I've made a Joomla plugin that let's you use Greybox instantly in your content items, modules, components and templates. Have fun :)

We've released another great FREE Joomla module, PraiseShow. PraiseShow is an extremely lightweight slideshow module that will scan a directory and flip through all the images. That's not all though, PraiseShow has a trick up its sleeve. PraiseShow can pull link urls from Joomla's default Web Links component! If the user specifies a Web Links category ID, the name, description, and url will be used for each of the images.
HTML Frames and iFrames have given developers the ability to combine web content into one page...with limitations:
- Cross domain issues - browsers don't like sites accessing each other (for good reason).
- CSS styling issues - styles are not inherited, iframe styling can cause issues, etc.
- SEF issues - search engines do not consider framed content as part of your site.
- The list goes on...
We are extremely pleased to announce the arrival of the JoomlaPraise Menu System: PraiseMenu!
We've been putting in many hours to speed up the release, due to the amount of requests we've had, and we're very excited with the current status of PraiseMenu. Due to limited testing time and lack of styling options, the current status is Alpha, so test thoroughly before using on a production site!
PraiseSlides has recently been updated to incude the following features:
- Auto-Play
- Auto-Play Time: Speed of Auto-Play
- Auto-Play From: Auto-Play from Last Clicked slide or Last Position
- Auto-Play Stop On Click: Ability to stop Auto-Play when clicked - Navigation Position
- Left: Slide Navigation on Left
- Right Slide Navigation on Right
PraiseMenu coming to a JoomlaPraise template near you!
Written by Kyle LedbetterComments
Construction is underway on our newest JoomlaPraise member extension: PraiseMenu! As you can guess, this will be a menu system either to be used in a JoomlaPraise template or standalone in any Joomla! template.
Currently the planned features are for the ability to easily change between the following menu styles:
- Mootools Dropdown Menu
- Suckerfish Dropdown Menu
- Dropline Menu
- Joomla! Split Menu
As with the default Joomla! menu module, you'll also be able to select from any existing menu to display in PraiseMenu.
Got any features you'd like us to include in PraiseMenu? Please comment on this entry and let us know! We're building this for you!
We're just uploaded the latest updates for both the 1.0.x and 1.5.x versions of PraiseSlides! This module is already well-received, though the beta had a few bugs and some features weren't enabled. This release includes the following features (new are bolded):

Joomla's out the box Contact component is...lacking to say the least. You can't add additional custom fields, and the forms are submitted to email only, not saved to a database. The core developers say Joomla is just the framework and they intend for third party developers to create better extension, but I say phooey, Joomla SHOULD come with a powerful forms extension like every good CMS should.
Enter Fabrik , which use to be MosForms from the Mambo days. We've tried virtually every forms extension out there, the main contenders are Phil Taylor's Phil-a-form , Facile Forms , and Fabrik in my opinion. Each has strengths and weaknesses. Phil-a-form's main advantage is an easily templated html email that's fired off when the form is submitted. Other than that, I felt Phil-a-form was cumbersome and the termanology was confusing. Facile Forms is like forms for dummies. They make it simply to update the form layout for CSS challenged, but once you look at the database structure you'll never use it again. Fabrik is the most well structured and after a small learning curve is the easiest to use.
That's right, our first offical club extension is underway! We've completed the frontend presentation of the JoomlaPraise Slide Module (featured on our homepage). Now we're working on the administrative backend for the module. We're working hard to make it extremely easy to add text and images to this module. Virtually every customer website can use this module either on the homepage as a banner or within an article to illustrate product features, etc.
A word on the extensions we plan to develop: We're big fans of many existing Joomla extensions. We don't plan to create extensions just to compete. We just want to address areas of need in the Joomla community. As developers, we're often frustrated by the choices we have. Don't get us wrong, we're extremely grateful to ALL Joomla developers and wouldn't be able to do one job without their contributions.
