First, let me start by saying "Happy Birthday, Joomla!" You've been a great friend to many of us and we can't know where we would be without you. It has been a long four years since you first donned your title way back in September of 2005, and we're all anxious to see what the next four years will look like. But, while many are pausing for a quick celebration and then continuing with their work, we here at JoomlaPraise wanted to ask a question:

What about the rest of us?

A while back we announced that JoomlaPraise and JoomlaBamboo would be teaming up to update some of our earlier templates. We chose Simple Shop from their portfolio, and you voted on the design you wanted to see most. Our last leg of the race was to actually build the thing, and that's just what we've done. We're pleased to present to you a new way to build a shopping cart website: Simple Shop Remix!

We believe that this template is exactly what the community needed with shopping cart integration, and includes all of the features you've come to know us for. Easy to customize, simple and elegant design, tight integration with other extensions and a layout that kicks butt. We've done a few things this time around, though, that will be sure to make this product stick out.

For example, you've been asking for a shopping cart template from us for a while now, and with this release you've finally got it. FoxyCart is a very cool e-commerce solution that we've recently found that is great for creating your shopping cart and getting on with life. If you've ever built an e-commerce site before you probably already know how difficult setting up those systems can be, but by integrating FoxyCart into our template we've done most of the work for you!

We've also taken the time to integrate our PraiseSlides module with a customized theme and made it easier than ever to make changes to the template as often as you need to. Continuing our Joomla! collaborations, our upcoming template will be a remix of our friend, JoomlaBamboo's Joomla! ecommerce template Simple Shop.

The web landscape has changed since the original Simple Shop, which was made with VirtueMart (far from simple).  Simple Shop Remix will be constructed with core Joomla! content to keep it truly simple. The shopping cart will feature JoomExtend's Joomla! Foxycart Integration, which harnesses the power of the lightbox checkout from Foxycart! JoomExtend's plugin essentially enables you to insert a snippet with product info and a checkout button directly in Joomla! content!

This type of collab is what's so cool about the current state of the web. We're working with another Joomla! template club, using another Joomla! developer's plugin, which lets you use a white label shopping cart.  We're living in pretty cool times.

Today the Joomla! team released another update to 1.5. Wojmamni Ama Woi, Yaqui for 12, comes with a few bug fixes and three moderate-level security fixes. We encourage you to update your installation, of course, and we'll make sure that our templates and extensions don't have any problems with the new version.
