Introduction:
This tutorial covers how to change pre configured Template Themes for the 1.5 Contest Entry template. Joomla! 1.0.x and 1.5.x handle the parameters much differently, so do pay close attention to make sure the tutorial your reading corresponds to the version of Joomla! you are using.
 Installation 1.0.x
To install the 1.5 Contest Entry template go to http://yourdomainname.com/administrator
Once your here enter your username and password and login to the back end of your site.
After logging in you should see the control panel.
Once your here use the top menu and navigate to Installers>Templates Site
Next, browse for the pp_joomla.1.0.zip file you downloaded from JoomlaPraise and click Upload File & Install.
You will be taken to the Template Manager of the back end and will now see that pp_joomla_1.0 is a template option.

Parameters 1.0.x
To change the template parameters for Joomla! 1.0.x install simply use the top menu and navigate to Site>Template Manager>Site Templates
Next you will see the list of templates you have to choose from.
Click the radio button to the left of the template named pp_joomla_1.0 and click the Edit HTML found in the top of the back end.
Next you will see a list of 7 variables that you can change.
- $default_theme has the option of theme1 through theme8.
This will change the overall look of the site.
- $custom_primary will give you the option for a custom primary color.
- $custom_secondary will give you the option for a custom secondary color.
- $custom_header will give you the option for a custom header color.
- $custom_font will give you the option for a custom font color.
- $custom_banner will give you the option for a custom banner background color.
- $orientation allows you to change the position of the left most column.

Installation 1.5.x
To install the 1.5 Contest Entry template go to http://yourdomainname.com/administrator
Once your here enter your username and password and login to the back end of your site.
After logging in you should see the control panel.
Once your here use the top menu and navigate to Extensions>Install/Uninstall
Next, browse for the pp_joomla_1.5.zip file you downloaded from JoomlaPraise and click Upload File & Install.
You will be taken to the Success message. Now navigate to Extensions>Template Manager.
You will see that pp_joomla_1.5 is now a template option.

Parameters 1.5.x
To change the template parameters for Joomla! 1.5.x install simply use the top menu and navigate to Extensions>Template Manager
Next you will see the list of templates you have to choose from. Choose pp_joomla_1.5.
On the right you will see the parameters for this template.
- Template theme has the option of theme1 through theme8.
This will change the overall look of the site.
- Show Component displays the Mainbody and Components installed on your site.
- Show Banner will/will not display the "top" user position of the template.
- Custom Background Color gives you the ability to customize the templates background color.
- Custom Header Color allows you to change the headings of your site.
- Custom Primary Color allows you to change the primary color of your site.
- Custom Secondary Color allows you to change the secondary elements of your site.
- Custom Font Color allows you to customize the font color of the site.
- Switch Layout allows you to change the position of the left most column.
